Handling real estate that is in a trust is no different than handling it on a personal level. The trust must pay the mortgage payments, property taxes and insurance, along with any other costs involved with the maintenance of that real property. This can include handling leasing, landscape, utilities, household bills, plumbing and painting.

It is best that the original Trustees communicate their intent for the property and designate how the maintenance should be handled in the terms of the trust.
